yTechnology as a Tool for Language Learning Autonomyz
I am interested in how people can take advantage of technology to assist them in education and learning. Computers, the Internet and audio / video equipment provide todayfs learners with the tools they need to become autonomous learners. As a teacher, I strive to open my studentsf eyes to how technology can help them improve their language learning; and to give them the tools they can use to continue their language learning beyond the classroom. I have given presentations on this topic at several regional and national-level conferences in America and I hope to share my experience with my fellow language teachers in Japan. |
‘–¼ Confessions of a Yakuza: A Life in Japan's Underworld
’˜ŽÒFJunichi Saga - Author; John Bester - Translator
o”ÅŽÐFKodansha International publishing, Tokyo: 1995
I thought this was an interesting peek into a shadow world that few non-members live to tell about. The interview style of writing keeps the story moving and allows the author to interject his own insights. There are a few areas where the translation was edited and anecdotes are glossed over, but they don't detract from the overall enjoyment of this work. I recommend it for anyone interested in seeing what life in the old-time Japanese mafia was like. If you like Japan and its culture, you'll like this book. |
